Email confirmation only. If the email belongs to an account, we send instructions to that inbox. Nothing is deleted automatically.

Manual review. Our team reviews every request, so an accidental or malicious submission cannot directly remove an account.

Before you submit

Altego holds records that regulated businesses are required by law to keep. That shapes what we can and cannot delete.

Records under an AML/CTF retention obligation cannot be deleted on request while that obligation applies. The Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) requires a reporting entity to keep customer identification, transaction, report and screening records for seven years. While that period is running, those records are not deleted, whoever asks. We will tell you which parts of a request we can act on and which we cannot.

If you are a customer of a business that uses Altego, and you want your information removed from that business's records, send your request to that business first, not to us. The business is responsible for that information and we hold it on its behalf. We will cooperate with it to help it respond.

This is a public process and does not require you to sign in. That is why we only ever send an email, and never delete anything from a form submission alone.

How to request deletion

Enter the email address linked to your Altego account. We will reply with confirmation steps, and our team will manually review the request before anything is removed.

If you would rather call, reach us on 1300 556 527, 9 am to 5 pm AEST, Monday to Friday, excluding Victorian public holidays. If you would rather email us directly, write to altegoprivacy@altego.com.au. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
